Drake’s Kick Channel Vanishes Amidst Public Feud with Co-Founders, Leaving Adin Ross in Disarray

Drake’s high-profile association with the streaming platform Kick has come to an abrupt end, with his official channel vanishing from the site following a public spat with Kick’s co-founders, Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. The sudden disappearance has left many, including prominent streamer Adin Ross, in a state of shock and uncertainty.

The controversy began when Drake aired his grievances in the chat of fellow streamer TrainwrecksTV, launching a scathing critique of Kick’s leadership. He notably referred to co-founder Ed Craven as a “snake” and accused him of “dissing the owls,” a reference to his own OVO brand. Drake also expressed frustration over alleged restrictions on his ability to “push affiliate” links on the platform, feeling that his contributions to the platform’s growth were not adequately recognized or compensated. He drew an analogy to NBA star Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, suggesting that while the owners profited immensely, the talent was made to endure arduous conditions. Drake also claimed that Bijan Tehrani parties with celebrities like Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio, and that the co-founders “want smoke” with OVO.

Shortly after these public criticisms, Drake’s Kick channel became inaccessible, displaying a “404 Error” message, which typically indicates that a page has been removed or deleted. This led to widespread speculation that Drake had either voluntarily deleted his channel or that Kick had removed it in response to his public statements.

Adin Ross, a frequent collaborator and close friend of Drake’s on the Kick platform, reacted with visible distress upon discovering the channel’s disappearance. During his own livestream, Ross expressed surprise and concern, stating, “Wait, Drake deleted his Kick? Wow, great… Like, what now, dude?”. Ross further revealed that Drake had informed him he would no longer be participating in Kick streams unless they were for Ross’s boxing promotion company, Brand Risk Promotions. This news left Ross feeling panicked and disappointed about the future of their collaborations on the platform.

Drake’s tenure on Kick began in December 2022, positioning him as a significant celebrity ambassador for the platform, which is heavily backed by the crypto-gambling giant Stake. His streams, often featuring high-stakes gambling and giveaways, drew substantial viewership and contributed to Kick’s burgeoning reputation as a formidable competitor to established platforms like Twitch. The “Drake curse,” a popular phenomenon tied to his betting outcomes, also added to his mystique and audience engagement on the site.

This is not the first time Drake’s presence on Kick has been met with speculation. In late 2024, his channel briefly disappeared following a major giveaway event, though Kick’s co-founder Bijan Tehrani had then dismissed rumors of a dispute over giveaway funding, attributing it to a username change. However, the current situation appears more definitive, with Drake’s explicit criticisms and the subsequent vanishing of his channel suggesting a more serious falling out.

The implications of Drake’s departure are significant for Kick. His involvement provided the platform with considerable mainstream appeal and credibility, particularly in the competitive streaming and online gambling landscape. The loss of such a high-profile figure could impact Kick’s growth trajectory and its ability to attract other major talent. The situation also highlights the complex dynamics of creator partnerships in the digital age, where celebrity endorsements can be double-edged swords, capable of elevating a platform but also creating significant disruption if a rift occurs.

While neither Drake nor Kick’s leadership has issued an official statement confirming the reasons for the channel’s disappearance, the sequence of events points towards a severe breakdown in their relationship. The controversy has sparked widespread discussion among fans and industry observers about the future of celebrity involvement in streaming platforms, the ethics of online gambling content, and the power dynamics between creators and platform owners. Meanwhile, Drake continues to expand his OVO brand with various high-profile collaborations, including recent partnerships with the NFL, showcasing his strategic diversification beyond music and streaming.
