Atlantic Music Group (AMG) has announced a significant leadership realignment, appointing Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab as the new Co-Presidents of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Global Music. This strategic move, effective immediately, sees the acclaimed duo extend their influence beyond their established roles as Co-Presidents of 300 Entertainment, further solidifying AMG’s commitment to a forward-thinking, artist-centric approach to the global music landscape.
A New Era of Leadership
The announcement, made by AMG CEO Elliot Grainge, positions Bass and Bouab to oversee and shape the trajectory of Atlantic Records’ burgeoning hip-hop and R&B rosters, alongside its expanding international music initiatives. Their dual appointment underscores a vision that integrates the entrepreneurial spirit and cultural acumen honed over more than a decade at 300 Entertainment into the broader Atlantic Music Group framework. This transition marks a pivotal moment for the storied label as it navigates the dynamic future of the music industry.
The Proven Track Record of Bass and Bouab
Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab have been instrumental in the growth and success of 300 Entertainment since its inception. Bass, who joined 300 as its inaugural marketing hire in January 2014, rapidly ascended to SVP of Marketing, spearheading impactful campaigns for a roster of top-tier artists. Her career has been marked by numerous accolades, including recognition on Billboard’s Women in Music and R&B and Hip-Hop Power Players lists, and awards from Clio Music and Webby. Bouab, joining 300 in the same year, established himself as SVP/Head of A&R, playing a critical role in signing and developing major talent. His A&R contributions have been pivotal to the careers of artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Fetty Wap, and Tee Grizzley, among many others.
Together, Bass and Bouab have been credited with building 300 Entertainment from the ground up, fostering an artist-centric community that drives culture and innovation. Their work has been foundational to the careers of artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug, Gunna, and the legendary Mary J. Blige. The acquisition of 300 Entertainment by Warner Music Group in 2021 further integrated their proven strategies into a larger global structure.
Strategic Vision and Artist Empowerment
In their new capacities, Bass and Bouab expressed their enthusiasm for leveraging their established philosophy at Atlantic Records. “At 300, we’ve always had an artist-first, independent mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit of hustle, grit, and creativity,” they stated jointly. “We’re looking forward to working closely with Elliot and bringing that same philosophy to our new posts – helping unlock even more potential in a label that’s already full of brilliance, passion, and so much opportunity. We will continue our dedication and service to the culture that has birthed some of our biggest stars and raised some of our brightest executives.”
CEO Elliot Grainge lauded their contributions, stating, “Rayna and Selim have been at 300 for over a decade, and they’ve done an incredible job, creating a unique artist-centric community that drives culture. They’re immersed in the tone and taste of what’s next, championing artists with a deep understanding of both how to fuel the creative process and energize fans. Their game-changing work at 300 makes them ideally suited to help take our strategy to exciting new places.”
Lanre Gaba’s Transition and Continued Impact
As part of this leadership evolution, veteran Atlantic executive Lanre Gaba will transition into a new advisory role as Executive Vice President, Artist Strategy & Development at AMG. Gaba, who has been with Atlantic for over two decades, most recently served as President, Black Music for Atlantic Records. Her extensive tenure has seen her work closely with a diverse array of acclaimed artists, including Cardi B, Roddy Ricch, Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, FKA twigs, and many others. Grainge recognized Gaba’s profound impact, noting, “Lanre brings her wide-ranging knowledge to the AMG center in a new role. Over her many years at Atlantic, she’s been a passionate artist’s advocate, insightful business leader, and team builder, and I know she will continue to carry those values forward in this new position.” Gaba herself expressed pride in her achievements and confidence in her successors, stating, “The Hip-Hop, R&B, and Global team is in great hands with Selim and Rayna.”
A Broader Strategic Realignment
These appointments are part of a larger strategic restructuring within Atlantic Music Group designed to maximize cultural impact and bolster creative expertise across its imprints, including Atlantic Records, 300 Entertainment, and 10K Projects. The focus remains on an agile, artist-focused organizational model that supports the development of groundbreaking music and fosters new talent. With Bass and Bouab now at the helm of key genre divisions and Gaba providing strategic guidance, Atlantic Music Group is poised to continue its legacy of innovation and influence in the global music stories.
