Fetty Wap Out of Prison: Opens Up On Support, Advice From 50 Cent, and New Music Ambitions

Jin SatoJin SatoJanuary 10, 20263 Minutes read

It’s official: Fetty Wap Released from federal prison and is now under home confinement. This marks a significant turn. It follows his 2023 sentencing, where the rap artist update revealed a six-year sentence for drug trafficking. The Fetty Wap release signifies a new phase as he focuses on his future and aims to give back to his community.

Fetty Wap Released: From Prison to Home Confinement

Fetty Wap, born William Junior Maxwell II, entered federal prison for a conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. He pleaded guilty in August 2022. The sentence was six years, but he was released early on January 8, 2026. Having served just over three years, he is now under home confinement in Philadelphia, which will last until November 8, 2026. Afterward, he faces five years of supervised release. This period includes strict conditions. He must undergo drug testing. He cannot open bank accounts without approval. He must also report his earnings. Alcohol is prohibited unless prescribed by a doctor. This Fetty Wap released update is a major development.

Prison Experience and Support Following Fetty Wap Released

Fetty Wap’s time in prison was challenging. He recently gave his first interview after his Fetty Wap released. It was with The Breakfast Club. He discussed his experience and admitted it took three weeks to write one song after his release. Redemption, for him, means spending time with his kids. While incarcerated, he felt supported. His family offered comfort. Select artists in the music industry also reached out. Coi Leray collaborated with him on his 2023 album, King Zoo. She promoted their song “1738”. Fetty Wap expressed deep gratitude for her support. The Fetty Wap released brought renewed attention to his music.

50 Cent’s Crucial Role Post-Fetty Wap Released

A significant source of support was fellow artist 50 Cent. 50 Cent reached out from day one, offering Fetty Wap whatever he needed. He provided financial assistance, mental and business guidance. 50 Cent advised him directly, telling Fetty Wap, “stop f-ing up.” He also urged him to keep making music. Fetty Wap found 50 Cent’s 50 Cent support unexpected; he was used to being the one to provide. 50 Cent’s consistent presence was important. He stayed in contact until Fetty Wap’s release. This support came when many others disappeared, especially around the time of the Fetty Wap released.

Background and Legal Case Leading to Sentence

Fetty Wap’s legal troubles began in October 2021. He was arrested before a performance at the Rolling Loud festival in New York. He and five others were accused of distributing large quantities of drugs, including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. The operation spanned from June 2019 to June 2020, using the U.S. Postal Service and hidden car compartments. Fetty Wap was initially released on bail. However, his bail was revoked in August 2022. Prosecutors alleged he threatened a man over FaceTime while showing a firearm. He then pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine. This charge carried a minimum five-year sentence. His music was even cited by prosecutors, who claimed he glamorized the drug trade, a fact relevant to his eventual Fetty Wap released.

Future in Music and Community Following Fetty Wap Released

Fetty Wap’s early release marks a new chapter. He is committed to community initiatives, focusing on supporting at-risk youth. He wants to expand access to education and tech skills. He also aims to provide vision care for children. He expressed this in a statement to Billboard, thanking his family, friends, and fans for their support. The artist is ready to move forward with purpose. His return to the studio has been difficult; it took him weeks to write a single song after his Fetty Wap released. However, he is determined to make a meaningful impact. His journey highlights themes of redemption and second chances within the hip-hop community. His new music ambitions are clear.

Conclusion on the Fetty Wap Released

Fetty Wap is now home. He is transitioning from prison to home confinement. His Fetty Wap released is an opportunity for a new beginning. He plans to focus on his family and community work. The hip-hop comeback artist also looks towards his music career. His supporters hope for a strong return. His story offers a perspective on redemption. It shows the importance of support systems, including the crucial 50 Cent support. It also highlights the challenges artists face. The Fetty Wap released and subsequent steps will define his return to the public eye.
