Little Brother and Lalah Hathaway to Headline BAMS Fest 2025 in Boston’s Franklin Park

BAMS Fest 2025: A Celebration of Black and Brown Artistry with Little Brother and Lalah Hathaway Set for Boston

Boston is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of culture and community as the BAMS Festival announces its highly anticipated 2025 edition. Scheduled to take place on June 28, 2025, at the scenic Franklin Park, the festival promises a rich tapestry of sounds and experiences, spotlighting both nationally acclaimed artists and burgeoning local talent. This year’s BAMS Fest will traverse a spectrum of musical genres, including R&B, funk, soul, and hip hop, offering a diverse lineup designed to resonate with a broad audience.

A Stellar Musical Lineup Anchors the Festival

Headlining the day’s musical offerings are three titans of their respective genres. Attendees can look forward to a captivating performance by Grammy Award-winning R&B soul singer Lalah Hathaway, renowned for her soulful vocals and extensive catalog of hits. Joining her are the acclaimed North Carolina hip hop duo Little Brother, celebrated for their introspective lyrics and smooth production, promising a dose of classic hip hop energy. Rounding out the headliners is the talented singer-songwriter Durand Bernarr, whose distinctive style and stage presence have garnered significant attention.

Beyond these prominent headliners, the BAMS Festival’s musical landscape will be further enriched by a diverse array of artists. The event will feature the infectious beats of DJ Bruno, the compelling artistry of Amanda Shea, the soulful melodies of Jireh Calo, and the enduring presence of Boston hip hop veteran Edo. G. This curated selection ensures a dynamic musical journey throughout the day, highlighting the depth and breadth of talent within the Black and Brown artistic communities.

More Than Just Music: A Cultural Immersion

The BAMS Festival is designed as a comprehensive cultural experience, extending far beyond its impressive music roster. A significant component of the event is the Vendor Village, which will provide a platform for Black-owned businesses to showcase and sell their unique products and services. This initiative underscores the festival’s commitment to economic empowerment and community support. Complementing the vibrant marketplace, the Soul Food Row will offer an array of culinary delights from popular food trucks, providing festival-goers with delicious and authentic flavors.

To foster a deeper connection with cultural heritage, the festival will also host engaging Afro-diasporic dance classes. These sessions offer an opportunity for attendees to learn and participate in traditional and contemporary dance forms, celebrating the rich history of movement within the diaspora. For families, the KidChella stage promises a dedicated zone of entertainment and activities specifically tailored for younger attendees, ensuring that the festival is an enjoyable experience for all ages.

Fostering Connection and Showcasing Artistry

At its core, the BAMS Festival aims to cultivate a strong sense of connection and belonging among attendees, while simultaneously providing a vital platform for the artistry of Black and Brown performers. By bringing together diverse talent and offering a variety of cultural touchpoints, the festival seeks to create an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere that honors heritage and promotes contemporary expression.

The festival is accessible to all, with tickets available starting at a $10 suggested donation. This affordability ensures that the enriching experience of BAMS Fest is within reach for the wider Boston community, embodying the festival’s inclusive spirit. The news of Little Brother and Lalah Hathaway headlining this year’s event has already generated significant buzz, marking BAMS Fest 2025 as a must-attend event for music lovers and culture enthusiasts alike.
