Westside Gunn Drops “Heels Have Eyes 2”: A 12-Track Fusion of Gritty Hip-Hop and Wrestling Spectacle

Andre WashingtonAndre WashingtonAugust 24, 20253 Minutes read

Westside Gunn, the prolific artist and visionary behind Griselda Records, has once again blurred the lines between music and the electrifying world of professional wrestling with the release of his latest project, “Heels Have Eyes 2.” Dropping on August 28, 2025, this 12-track album serves as a powerful sequel to his earlier “Heels Have Eyes” EP and is intrinsically linked to his burgeoning wrestling promotion, 4th Rope, showcasing a continued dedication to merging diverse cultural elements.

The Nexus of Rap and the Squared Circle

Westside Gunn, born Alvin Lamar Worthy, has long been a prominent figure in the hip-hop landscape, known for his distinctive lyrical style and unwavering consistency. However, his passion extends far beyond the recording studio. A fervent wrestling fan, Gunn is frequently seen front-row at major events, and his music is replete with references to wrestling legends, matches, and terminology. This deep-seated admiration has manifested in various creative endeavors, most notably his 4th Rope wrestling organization and the “Heels Have Eyes” concert series.

The “Heels Have Eyes” project, which began with an EP released in April 2025, has become a cornerstone for Gunn’s exploration of this unique intersection. The initial EP even featured WWE’s Ted DiBiase on its cover, with the sequel adopting the iconic Virgil. The “Heels Have Eyes III” event, launched in conjunction with the 4th Rope promotion, further solidified this fusion, combining live music performances with professional wrestling matches. This venture highlights Gunn’s ambition to create immersive cultural experiences that resonate with his multifaceted artistic identity.

“Heels Have Eyes 2”: A Curated Sonic Experience

“Heels Have Eyes 2” features a robust 12-track lineup, meticulously curated by Westside Gunn himself, who also executive produced the project. The album boasts production from a roster of acclaimed beatsmiths, including Harry Fraud, Cee Gee, Mr. Green, Denny Laflare, DJ Muggs, Conductor Williams, Crucial The Guillotine, and Myles, who also contributed to the original EP. While many of Gunn’s recent projects have maintained a largely featureless structure, “Heels Have Eyes 2” includes contributions from notable Griselda affiliates and collaborators such as Benny The Butcher, Stove God Cooks, MIKE, Skyzoo, and Brother Tom Sos, lending their distinct stories and flows to specific tracks.

Tracks like “Bomme Des Garçon,” “Heel Cena,” “Power House Hobbs” (featuring Benny The Butcher), and “Brikolai Volkoff” (featuring Stove God Cooks) directly nod to the wrestling world, underscoring the project’s thematic continuity. These titles, combined with the album’s gritty production and Gunn’s signature vocal delivery, create a soundscape that is both introspective and high-octane, mirroring the drama and spectacle of professional wrestling.

Gunn’s Unwavering Artistic Momentum

Fans have widely praised Westside Gunn’s relentless work ethic and his ability to consistently deliver high-quality music, fostering a loyal fanbase that eagerly anticipates each new release. “Heels Have Eyes 2” is another testament to his innovative approach, demonstrating his talent not just as a rapper but as a curator and visionary who isn’t afraid to push creative boundaries. His consistent output, coupled with his ventures into fashion and wrestling promotion, solidifies his position as a prominent figure in contemporary hip hop culture.

The project’s release continues a significant year for Gunn, who has maintained a prolific presence in the music scene. The anticipation surrounding “Heels Have Eyes 2” reflects the deep trust fans place in his artistic direction, eager for the unique blend of street narratives, high art, and cultural commentary that has become his hallmark.

A New Chapter in Gunn’s Legacy

“Heels Have Eyes 2” stands as more than just an album; it represents a culmination of Westside Gunn’s artistic passions. By seamlessly weaving his love for hip-hop with the visceral appeal of professional wrestling, he continues to craft a unique lane that resonates with a broad audience. This release reaffirms his status as one of the most exciting and dynamic artists in the top tier of independent music, proving that his creative empire is only continuing to expand.
