JT Unleashes “No Hook” Diss Track, Igniting Fiery New Chapter in Cardi B Feud

C-DubC-DubOctober 8, 20253 Minutes read

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the hip hop music industry, JT, one half of the Miami-based duo City Girls, has dropped a scathing diss track titled “No Hook.” Released on October 8, 2025, the song is a direct and unsparing lyrical assault aimed at fellow rapper Cardi B, escalating their long-simmering rivalry from social media to a full-blown musical confrontation.

The “No Hook” Offensive

“No Hook,” produced by COUPE and BeatsByTaz, lives up to its name by eschewing a traditional chorus for a relentless barrage of sharp, calculated disses. The track’s hard-hitting production provides a gritty canvas for JT’s signature blend of raw energy and intricate wordplay. Critics have noted that the song channels the spirit of classic hip-hop diss records, prioritizing potent lyricism and unapologetic delivery over commercial polish. JT doesn’t hold back, targeting Cardi B’s authenticity, lyrical prowess, public controversies, and even her personal life. Lines referencing Cardi B’s appearance, alleged cosmetic procedures, and her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs, have particularly fueled the online conversation. One particularly sharp jab references a marker-throwing incident outside a civil assault trial and questions Cardi B’s songwriting credibility by stating, “The only time I seen you with a pen, was at the courthouse”.

Roots of the Rivalry

The friction between Cardi B and JT is not a new development; their complicated history dates back to their 2018 collaboration on City Girls’ hit “Twerk.” While initially friendly, tensions began to surface around 2020, fueled by fan speculation and industry dynamics. A significant public clash occurred in 2022 when JT congratulated GloRilla on a chart milestone without explicitly mentioning Cardi B’s feature, prompting Cardi to retort with insults on Twitter and sparking a wider online war.

More recently, the feud reignited with the release of Cardi B’s sophomore album, “Am I The Drama?,” in September 2025. The album features the track “Magnet,” which many fans and critics interpret as containing subtle digs at both JT and her partner, Lil Uzi Vert, criticizing their relationship and loyalty. This lyrical volley from Cardi B set the stage for JT’s direct musical response.

Industry and Fan Reactions

Cardi B has not remained silent in the face of JT’s musical attack. In the days following the release of “No Hook” and a second diss track, “Keep Coming,” Cardi B took to social media. On Instagram Live on October 6, 2025, she appeared to mock the streaming numbers of JT’s diss tracks, claiming they garnered only “25,000 streams” and jesting that she could “spend a bitch’s fucking streams in the club”. She also referenced JT in her own track “Magnet,” seemingly aiming to promote it amidst the controversy.

While JT’s diss tracks were briefly available on streaming platforms, they were later removed, with the artist not providing an immediate explanation. The situation has divided fans, with some praising JT’s lyrical ferocity and others criticizing the perceived low stream counts and potential writing assistance for her diss tracks. The ongoing beef is being closely watched as a significant event in female rap rivalries, highlighting the competitive landscape within the music industry.

Implications for the Hip Hop Landscape

JT’s decision to release “No Hook” signifies a shift from online skirmishes to direct artistic confrontation, a move that many believe lends more weight and legitimacy to the rivalry. This escalation occurs at a time when female rappers are increasingly commanding attention, yet also often find themselves pitted against one another. Such lyrical battles, while dramatic, can sometimes overshadow the artistry and music itself, pulling artists into extended narratives that consume public attention.

As the hip hop news cycle buzzes with reactions and speculation, the feud between JT and Cardi B underscores the enduring power of diss tracks as a form of artistic expression and competitive challenge within the genre. With Cardi B having yet to release a direct musical response to “No Hook,” the music industry waits with bated breath to see if she will retaliate in kind, further intensifying this latest chapter in the dynamic world of hip hop news and rivalries.
